Moira Were AM is the Mayor of Onkaparinga and one of South Australia’s most respected voices on social enterprise, diversity, democracy, social justice, and systems change. A trained social worker with a master’s in economics and ethics, Moira has led across government, business, and community sectors for decades—including as CEO of Volunteering SA&NT and in board roles with the LGA SA, SA’s Medical Board, ICLEI, and the Fire & Emergency Services Commission. She is the founder of Chooks SA and the co-founder of Collab4Good. Moira is a sought-after speaker on social change, gender, democracy, and inclusive economic development—and was awarded the Order of Australia in 2019 for her service to South Australia.
